During the visit, President Uhuru is expected to shed light on the Somalia peace situation and the piracy problem along the East Africa coastline on the Indian Ocean.French President Francois Hollande has invited President Uhuru Kenyatta to the Traditional French Africa Summit scheduled for December 6 and 7 in the capital, Paris.
The meeting to be held at the French President’s palace, Elysee Palais, would be attended by presidents from across the African continent.“President Uhuru’s input will be crucial to the meeting because of the strategic position Kenya is at with respect to peace in Somalia and piracy on the Indian Ocean,” said outgoing French Ambassador to Kenya Etienne de Poncins.

He was speaking at the French residence in Nairobi during celebrations to mark Bastille Day. According to Mr de Poncins, French has taken a particular interest in the security of Africa, citing his country’s current involvement in Mali.
He also disclosed that Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Secretary Amb Amina Mohamed has been invited to Paris this October to strengthen the Kenya-French partnership signed between the two countries two years ago.

“We have done much in Kenya’s worthwhile partners in the past and we are ready to work with the new administration to do even better things,” he said.
Mr de Poncins left last night for France to take up a new position as head of the new European Union mission, EUCAP-Nestor.

Churchill Show's Chipukeezy Asks President Uhuru For His Daughter Ngina's Hand in Marriage

As President Uhuru hosted the media at Statehouse this past Friday, Churchill show comedian and Kiss 100
radio presenter Vinny Chipukeezy, grabbed this moment and asked the president a private question.. very
private.
“I won't ask you a question about the government or Kiss 100, I want to ask you a personal question.” he
asked.
To which the president replied, "Sawa niulize."The comedian continued, "
“Since nikuje hapa nimeangalia nikacheki cheki and then nikajiambia, I need to ask you this, in short tukakua
mabeste na Ngina kunaweza kua na mambo? (Since I came here I have pondered on how to ask you this, if I
was to befriend Ngina could there be a problem?)
After some laughter, the President Uhuru said,
“Nafikiria umechelewa upande hiyo, ungekuja awali.
Umechelewa. (I think you are late, if you would have asked
earlier...)”
Still determined to be part of the first family, Chipukeezy
chose another avenue.
He asked the president, “Apart from Otonglo, I think I'm the
next talented guy so I was thinking, could you adopt me, I
mean...”
And again they laughed.

Kenya's Tallest Building.. Right on Top of Nakumatt Lifestyle

Artistic Impression of Hazina Towers
Very Soon, Times Tower will cease being the tallest building in Kenya and East Africa. This is because the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), will this morning commission the construction of the tallest building, marking an end to the tender dispute that had stalled ground breaking for more than two years.

Hazina Trade Centre will be 39 floors, with the current tallest building Times Tower, being 38 floors. It is also expected to be taller in metres.

Hazina towers is set to be built on top of Nakumatt Lifestyle, in Nairobi's Central Business District. “The proposed extension works will involve the construction of a 31-storey office tower block to complement the current eight floors (4 basement levels, Ground Floor, 2 Mezzanine &1 Podium),” said NSSF Thursday in a statement. It will be ready in 2016.

Hazina towers will cost Sh6 billion to construct. This is just pocket change to NSSF. By end of 2012, it had a portfolio of Sh121.5 billion, of which 34% is invested in real estate. NSSF is also seeking to raise funds by selling some of their prime property. View Park Towers is set to be sold for 1.8 billion, and the government seems likely to make the purchase.
